KAA will be the manufacturer for the ground ambulances as necessary. There will be 2 lineup models of ambulances – each with their own advantages and disadvantages. The idea is to perform the best scenario for an emergency medical response system to take care of the patient in need.
A KAA Model 6 or KAA Model 8 will likely be used to convert the vehicle into an ambulance. The model 6 will be what you might see in Europe where the model 8 will be what you might see in the United States. There are no private ambulance companies. Instead, all ambulances will be a part of the Health1 healthcare network, and intended to support the needs of the patient and transport them to where they will need to go.
The model 6 line up of ambulances will be best for city streets where there will even be one way streets. There might also be roundabouts that some ambulances, and fire vehicles have trouble with. The model 6 ambulance will function better in those circumstances. The disadvantage is the model 6 will likely not have the space for everything, so the model 6 might not be the best option. Also, the Model 6 will not be able to take additional people. For example, it might be harder for a parent of a child to ride in the ambulance to the emergency room.
The model 8 line up will strip the back down to the frame, and install a larger box like structure to the rear of the vehicle. A heavy duty truck platform is needed for this type of vehicle, but it will be an option, and obviously the biggest issue is size. They might have a harder time going around roundabouts, and down narrow streets. Still, this size is what gives them the advantage of being able to transport passengers along with the patient. Needless to say, the dispatch will identify the vehicle (if there’s a choice) to go to the scene.
