When the need arises, an ambulance will be used to stabilize, and transport the patient to either urgent care, emergency care, or trauma care. It will be up to the ambulatory team to define the need of the patient. Sometimes, the patient just needs an emergency medical team to just stabilize the patient on site. There are 3 categories of ambulatory care services as follows:
- Air Ambulance
- Ambulance
- Emergency Care Team
Any of these resources can be called upon by dialing 911 which the patient will contact the emergency dispatch center. The patient will speak with the dispatch operator which will then send the proper resource to the patient. Any terrestrial telephone call (including Wifi Calling on the cellular phone) will dispatch the IPv6 address which is an immediate address lookup so the dispatch knows what the address is even if the patient does not. Cellular triangulation might need help from the patient if GPS is not working properly.
