Pharmacies are locations outside of the doctor’s office that distributes and provides for drugs that the physician wishes for the patient to acquire. There could be a number of pharmacy chains, but Health1 will also have their own pharmacy chain which will provide for patients. The goal will be to have a Health1 pharmacy in every community, or group of communities. The most realistic option will be in a Food Plus store which is the government owned grocery chain.
All pharmacies will be required to accept Health1 as the payment system for any class 2 or class 3 drugs. Class 4 drugs still requires a prescription, but does not need to be covered by the pharmacy whereas Class 1 drugs must be administered directly by the physician. A pharmacy chain can send the patient to another pharmacy in their chain if the particular pharmacy does not have the drug that needs to be filled. However, this should be discouraged and regular prescription fills should be in stock to keep the patient with the medicine they would need.
A patient can choose to change pharmacy chains without any penalty. However, Class 2 drugs can not be sent to another pharmacy chain. The patient must contact their physician, and get a new prescription filled to the new pharmacy chain. This is to reduce the chance of fraud, and drug misuse. With that in mind all Class 2 drugs must have the same copay.
